Volunteer!
We have no
sponsor and no guaranteed income. We receive some grant funding from
corporations and foundations, otherwise our support comes from friends
who share our philosophy and goals. We rely on benefactors for donations
and volunteer service.
Volunteer Your
Time as a short-term or long-term volunteer at one of the many programs
we run here at Magnificat Houses!

Volunteer Opportunities
-
Holiday Events: Christmas carols for each of the nine
residences, visits to Halloween haunted houses, dances, ethnic meals,
special events…
-
Picnic Planners: Our residents appreciate picnic lunches and
BBQs in Magnificat Houses’ Brennan Park.
-
Drive/Fundraisers Organizers: We always have a need for linens,
towels, shoes, and clothing. Organizing a drive from your church or
school can be a great help.
Also, sponsoring a car wash or other fundraisers to assist with
Magnificat Houses’ financial needs.
-
Outings: Trips to the zoo, museums, parks, etc. are good
chances for the residents of Magnificat houses to meet community
groups.
-
Soup Kitchen Volunteers: We enjoy having individual as well as
groups volunteer at Loaves & Fishes, however we request the following:
1) No children under the age of 15 are allowed in the kitchen
area.
2) Covered shoes and caps are required for service in the
kitchen area.
3) We cannot accommodate groups over fifteen people
4) We would like to request that a donation be made to assist us
in our ministry. Food and money are always accepted.
-
Garden/Yard
work Volunteers: Our community garden always needs some extra
attention, weeders, planters, harvesters…come one, come all! Garden
experts especially welcome!
